| The biggest debtors of the state are companies with white horses from abroad |

| According to him, the total number of companies in Slovakia that have a debt to the state or the insurance company Union is over 119,000.Almost 25,000 of them are companies in which there is a foreign person in some capacity.The largest state debtors are companies with so-called white horses from abroad. Out of the total number of 61,853 companies in which foreign persons appear in various positions, 24,894 companies owed money to the state. This was stated in the analysis by the FinStat portal analyst Martin Lindak.
He specified that as of January 2024, they owed the state and the insurance company Union more than 2.17 billion euros. Of the total debt of 3.9 billion euros owed to the state and Union insurance company by all companies in Slovakia, this is a share of 55%. The highest share of the debt is held by the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic, whose companies owe EUR 2.09 billion. " Of course, these data must take into account the fact that even domestic statutory officers could hold positions in the companies and the company was de facto not managed or owned only by a foreign person, " he pointed out.According to him, the total number of companies in Slovakia that have a debt to the state or the insurance company Union is over 119,000. Almost 25,000 of them are companies in which there is a foreign person in some capacity. Even if the share of these companies is only 20%, together they owe more than 55% of the total debt to the state.
" Indebted companies, in which a foreign person figures, often do not have a registered final user of benefits. Depending on the institution to which they owe, the percentage of companies without a registered final user of benefits ranges from 50 to 72% ," he emphasized.
He added that there could be two reasons for not registering the final beneficiary. " The first reason is that the companies ran into problems even before 2019, from which they had to register the final user of the benefits. Ultimately, these companies are inactive and the state still records debts against them. The second reason will be the deliberate avoidance of obligations and disclosure of ownership structures. Statutory officials in this case are stuck white horses, " the analyst concluded.
