Cabinet still at odds over whether still wine should be taxed
Prag, 13.02.2024
The government will make a decision on the possible taxation of still wine by the end of June at the latest, Finance Minister Zbynìk Stanjura told Czech Television. Still wine is now the only alcohol without excise duty, and the ruling coalition is divided on whether or not it should be taxed. The finance ministry has reportedly prepared four options for introducing an excise tax on still wine, but the Christian Democrats remain vehemently against taxing it on the grounds that it would threaten the future of the Moravian wine industry. The opposition is also strongly against a tax on still wine. odkaz na stránku
