Embraco Slovakia
Bratislava, 21.02.2024
Approximately five years after being taken over by the Japanese corporation Nidec, the Embraco Slovakia plant in Spišská Nová Ves is changing part of its production program. Director Tomáš Kandra informed that the production of components for commercial engines will be located at Spiš in the near future. For more than 25 years, Embraco Slovakia was primarily a manufacturer of compressors for refrigeration. In recent years, according to the director, the Slovak plant in the structure of the corporation has built an important position within the business unit ACIM (Appliance, Commercial and Industrial Motors). Currently, its transformation into a hybrid commercial plant is beginning, where, in addition to compressors, components for industrial engines will be produced. "Specifically, it will involve the production of stator laminations, injection of rotors, machining of shafts and engine covers, as well as other associated processes. This is a very important milestone for us," Kandra explained. At the same time, the production of EM3 compressors in Slovakia will be terminated in order to optimize EM3 production capacities within the corporation. The company does not anticipate any impact on employment as a result of the change in the production program, it currently employs approximately 1,400 people, making it one of the largest employers in the region. " I personally perceive new opportunities very positively and, like Nidec, I am convinced that we have the right people on whom we can rely in the process of transforming our plant into a new product portfolio," added the director. odkaz na stránku
