Bratislava, 11.04.2025 |
 |
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MPRV) of the Slovak Republic, together with the Agricultural Paying Agency (PPA), has launched a call for a minimum aid measure in the area of marketing support in the food industry. People will be able to submit an application for reimbursement of marketing costs for the period from April 10, 2024 to April 30, 2025 by May 9 of this year. Four million euros have been allocated for the call. The PPA announced this on Thursday.
"In addition to the acute challenges that we are jointly addressing in the sector today, we also have long-term obligations to our food processors and winemakers. The aim of the aid is to provide businesses operating in the food industry with financial resources for marketing support for the sale of food products. Next month, they will be able to apply for reimbursement of up to half of the costs that contributed to the promotion of quality Slovak food," said Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Richard Takáč (Smer-SD), adding that this is a refund of invoices that have already been paid.
A business operating in the food industry registered in the register kept by the official food control authorities or in the list of approved establishments according to a special regulation can apply for assistance. They can be reimbursed for graphic designs, promotional materials, production of podcasts or cooperation with influencers. Eligible costs include services related to the production of product packaging, the creation of quality content with a focus on product brand marketing, consulting on the development and possible official translation of texts for packaging, or language proofreading of texts. It can also include the production and printing of promotional and marketing materials, graphic and creative designs, production of advertising campaigns, or installation of advertising, if it does not involve the procurement or technical evaluation of long-term tangible assets.
“We will continuously administer the received applications at PPA and the payment will be completed by the end of the calendar year. The start of the payment depends on the number of applications and the quality of the submitted documents,” explained PPA Director General Marek Čepko. He added that documents on the paid costs incurred by applicants from May last year to April 30, 2025, must be entered into the ITMS2014+ system when creating the application.
