| Wines from the best 22 winemakers from Slovakia were presented in France |

| The wines of the best 22 Slovak winemakers were presented at the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux, France. This was reported by Mária Jurovčíková from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. According to her, the presentations at the Cité du Vin were led by a member of the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Slovakia (ZVVS), a Frenchman named David Papillon, who has been living and producing wine in Slovakia for many years.
Jurovčíková specified that the ZVVS signed a three-year contract in the fall of 2024 with the Foundation for the Culture and Civilization of Wine and the largest wine and wine museum in the world, the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. This will allow it to present Slovak wines and wine regions in the most famous and important wine region in the world from 2025 to 2027. In the first year, wines from 22 Slovak winemakers were selected, who together sent 528 bottles of wine to Bordeaux.
This is the first direct partnership between ZVVS and Cité du Vin, with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Paris acting as a mediator at the beginning of the cooperation and providing intensive assistance throughout the preparation. In 2016 and 2017, the presentation was provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic.
According to Jurovčíková, of the approximately 400,000 visitors who visit Cité du Vin each year, 53% are international, representing 180 nationalities.
“It is an important step for us to enter the global wine map at Cité du Vin so that people from all over the world know that Slovakia is a wine-growing and wine-making country with a rich history and beautiful wines,” said Jaroslava Kaňuchová Pátková, executive director of ZVVS.
