| Switzerland is joining Horizon Europe and EU research programs |

| On Monday, the European Commission (EC) confirmed that the European Union and Switzerland have signed an agreement on Switzerland's participation in the Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and Euratom Research & Training programs. The agreement places Swiss researchers and organizations on an equal footing with researchers and organizations in EU member states, reports TASR.
Following the signing of the agreement, Swiss entities can lead consortia, receive direct EU funding, and have access to all thematic pillars and instruments of the scientific programs.
This opens new opportunities for cross-border pooling of talent, strengthening research infrastructure and industrial capacities, which accelerates progress in areas such as climate solutions, digital transformation, advanced manufacturing, health innovations, and energy security.
The Commission clarified that this step strengthens Europe’s position as a global hub for scientific and technological development with a significant impact worldwide.
