| Bratislava, 01.12.2025 |
 |
| A modern ComfortJet train set will start operating on the Prague - Bratislava - Budapest route from the new 2025/2026 timetable. It will bring passengers greater comfort with a capacity of 555 seats, of which 99 in first class and another 18 in the restaurant car. The Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) announced this on Monday.
"It reaches a maximum speed of up to 230 kilometers per hour (km/h) and stands out for its quiet ride, barrier-free access and interconnected spaces that allow comfortable movement throughout the train. In Slovakia, the train will travel at a maximum speed of up to 140 km/h and in the Czech Republic it will travel at a maximum speed of up to 160 km/h, which corresponds to the current capabilities of the railway network in both countries," the company said.
On the train, passengers will find a children's cinema, a changing table, space for 12 bicycles and larger luggage, an information and entertainment on-board portal, wireless mobile phone chargers and ergonomic seats in first class, a wireless Wi-Fi network and special windows that transmit mobile signal, as well as barrier-free access and places for people in wheelchairs. The Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Strategy and Eurofunds Department of ZSSK Rastislav Glasa explained that the company wants to deploy similar modern sets on the line from Košice to Bratislava in the future.
From December 14 of this year, long-distance transport on the line (Berlin) - Prague - Bratislava - Budapest will be modernized. Ten Metropolitan connections will now operate in the Railjet train category with modern equipment. Two of these trains will be operated by new ComfortJet sets. A total of 18 train connections will continue to operate on this route.
"Four connections will remain in the EuroCity (EC) category, which will be operated by the Slovak Railway Company (ZSSK) with sets of the original design. The other two connections operated by ZSSK are the Metropolitan Slovenská strela on the Prague - Bratislava - Nové Zámky route. Passengers will also continue to have access to two night connections in the EuroNight (EN) category, equipped with sleeping and couchette cars, which offer comfortable overnight travel to important destinations in the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany," the company added.odkaz na stránku |
