| Solivary heading towards real estate business |

| The new owner of property Solivary thinks rather to trade in real estate
[15.4.2009, TREND / Branislav Sobinkovič, Gabriel Beer]
Slovakia was supposed to be a great producer of salt in Central Europe. But the politicians were wrong in their vision back in the 90s. The new factory in Zbudza, near Michalovce, became a hole for investments. Its former investor, Slovak salt producer Solivary Prešov couldn’t prevent problems either. It has been drowning in the red for several years.
Its posessions, along with unfinished operations in Zemplín, were gradually acquired by an unknown firm named Kolifaktor. This company bought all this at auctions, organized by 1. Garantovaná, which is managed by the financial group J & T. According to its managers‘ allegations, Bratislava’s “sharks” aren’t the owners of the successful auctioneer.
Supposedly, Kolifaktor is only one of their clients. It’s still not clear what Kolifaktor will do with the acquired assets. The most probable scenario will involve the real estate business. The Trend reporter met with the managers of J & T, Solivary and Kolifaktor at the end of February, shortly after the last auction of Solivary’s properties.
At the auctions, Kolifaktor gradually acquired the Prešov factory for a total of 250 million Slovak crows (8 million euros), as well as properties and technologies from the unfinished mining factory in Zbudza, and the incomplete operation in Michalovce, where salt was supposed to be processed.
