| The car factory near Košice already has over 400 employees |

| The Volvo Car Košice team currently consists of more than 400 employees, and their number is increasing every month. Martin Seman stated this for TASR on behalf of the company, according to whom the work at the plant near Košice is progressing at a high pace and is currently in an intensive construction phase. The silhouette of future production facilities is already visible on the construction site.
"Recruitment to our plant is taking place in several waves in accordance with the construction progress and the planned start of operation," he said. While in the initial phase they focused mainly on filling managerial and professional positions such as specialists in logistics, quality, IT or technical building management, since September last year recruitment has also been underway directly for production. "Colleagues who have already joined are currently intensively involved in setting up internal processes and preparing for the launch of technologies," he added.
The main phase of hiring production employees and operators is planned for this year. "Our goal is for new colleagues to have enough time for quality training in working with modern technologies," he said, adding that next year, when they plan to start serial production, the plant will be staffed and ready for operation according to their plans. "At full capacity, we expect that approximately 1,500 employees will find employment within one work shift. Overall, Volvo Car Košice will create thousands of jobs after reaching full capacity," he added.As for the construction itself, according to him, they have successfully completed the skeletons of key halls. These include the press shop, megacasting, machining hall, paint shop, body shop, assembly hall and hall for the production of battery components and electric motors. They are currently focusing on installing internal technologies and preparing the infrastructure necessary for the technological equipment of the plant.
They would like to launch test and pre-series production in the second half of this year. "This phase will be key for precisely tuning the technological lines and setting strict quality control standards," Seman recalled, according to whom the goal remains to launch serial production of new generation electric cars in 2027.
