| A competition has been announced for the design of the Slovak exposition at Expo 2027 Belgrade |

| The national tourism promotion organization Slovakia Travel has announced a competition for the development of the architectural design of the Slovak exposition at the International Specialized Exhibition Expo 2027 Belgrade. The design should be in line with the main idea of the presentation of Slovakia - "A playground where play becomes an opportunity". As follows from the announcement of the design competition in the gazette of the Public Procurement Office, the deadline for submitting bids is May 14.
The estimated value of the contract according to the tender documents is 414,000 euros excluding value added tax (VAT), which consists of the value of prizes and rewards for participants in the amount of 29,000 euros and the estimated amount for the provision of services awarded through direct negotiation in the amount of 385,000 euros excluding VAT. This procedure will follow the design competition. The estimated investment costs for the subsequent implementation of construction works are 3.85 million euros excluding VAT.
"The purpose of the design competition is to obtain the most suitable architectural design for the subject of the competition, as a basis for negotiations with the winning participant on the award of a contract for the provision of services - preparation of project documentation, provision of engineering activities related to the construction and author's supervision services during construction," the competition documents state.
A five-member jury will evaluate the competition proposals, which will not be excluded, while maintaining their anonymity according to the comprehensive criterion "quality of the architectural solution in relation to the assignment". This is in terms of the overall architectural quality and concept of the pavilion solution, the ability of the design to reflect the theme of Expo 2027 Belgrade and the thematic focus of the presentation of the Slovak Republic or to communicate the identity of the Slovak Republic.
The evaluation also includes the quality of the spatial solution of the pavilion, the aesthetic and visual quality of the design, the application of sustainability principles, economic adequacy and technical feasibility of the design. The top-ranked designs will receive three prizes totaling 29,000 euros - 1st prize will be 12,000 euros, 2nd prize 10,000 euros and 3rd prize 7,000 euros.
Expo 2027 Belgrade will be held in the Serbian capital from 15 May to 15 August 2027.
