1 more, small ones attract with flexibility
Bratislava, 13.04.2026
Employees of large companies can earn hundreds of euros more per month than their colleagues in smaller companies. This is according to the latest analysis by the Platy.sk portal, which compared salaries in six common professions. The analysis focused on positions that are part of almost every company - office manager, marketing specialist, sales representative, human resources specialist, IT technical support specialist and payroll accountant. In all cases, larger companies offer higher average salaries. While the difference for office managers is approximately 230 euros, for marketing specialists it is only 70 euros. “The results confirm that large companies have more room to reward employees, which is mainly related to their financial stability and scope of operation,” explains ¼ubica Melcerová, PR manager at Alma Career Slovakia. However, a higher salary does not automatically mean greater satisfaction. According to a survey by Alma Career Slovakia, 17% of people working in small companies changed their employer in the last year, while only 9% in large companies. Paradoxically, however, it is employees of large companies who more often declare their willingness to leave for a better offer. Up to 40% of employees of large companies expressed this opinion in the survey. The advantage of large companies is mainly stability, a clear organizational structure and a wider range of benefits or training. "Employees know exactly who to turn to, and they often work in an international environment, which also brings language experience," added Melcerová. On the other hand, greater anonymity or slower decision-making processes can be disadvantages. Smaller companies are mainly attractive due to their flexibility and the direct impact of work on results. Employees often have a wider range of activities and closer relationships in the team. The disadvantages of smaller companies can be fewer benefits or unclearly set processes. Employees may also encounter a wider range of tasks without clearly defined boundaries.odkaz na stránku
