| The number of workers in the food industry rose by 4.7% in the first quarter. |

| In the food industry of the Slovak Republic, 34,066 employees worked in the first quarter of 2025. Compared to the same period last year, their number increased by 4.7%. This was reported to TASR by Jana Holéciová, spokesperson for the Slovak Agricultural and Food Chamber (SPPK).According to her, the most significant increase in the number of employees in the first quarter of 2025 was recorded in the production and canning of poultry (by 32.8%), in the production of other food products (by 14.9%), and in the production of pasta (by 13.8%).More significant increases in the number of employees were recorded in the production of durable bakery products (by 10.5%), in the production of milling products (by 6.9%), and in the sector of bottling natural mineral waters and producing non-alcoholic beverages (by 6.0%).The average number of employees increased during the monitored period in the sector of processing and conserving fruits and vegetables (by 3.4%), in the production and processing of milk (by 2.9%), in the production of bakery products including confectionery except for durable products (by 2.4%), in the production, processing, and conservation of meat and meat products (by 1.6%), in the production of plant and animal oils and fats (by 1.0%), in the production of cocoa, chocolate, and confectionery (by 0.8%), and in the production of grape wine (by 0.4%).Conversely, the most significant year-on-year decrease in the number of employees in the first quarter of 2025 occurred in the production of distilled alcoholic beverages (by 13.8%). A reduction in the average number of employees was recorded in the production of beer and malt (by 2.7%), in the production of meat products including poultry (by 1.8%), and in the production of ready-made feeds (by 0.5%).odkaz na stránku |
