| Argentina announces return to bond market |
| Buenos Aires, 05.12.2025 |
 |
| Argentina's government announced on Friday that it will issue a four-year bond denominated in dollars. After seven years, it returns to the bond market. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report.
The bond will have an interest rate of 6.5%. This is the first such issue since 2018, said Economy Minister Luis Caputo.
Argentina is currently negotiating with banks for a loan of around USD 7 billion (€6.01 billion). In January, it has to pay off more than $4 billion in debt. "We are returning to the capital markets," President Javier Milei wrote on the X social network.
"This is extremely important news," Caputo said in an interview with the A24 television channel, suggesting that it would help accumulate reserves, a requirement of the International Monetary Fund, which extended the loan to the country.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the proceeds from the bond issue will be used to partially repay the debt on January 9. The new bonds will mature in November 2029.
